  how did you feel when you first learn the real truth about jehovahs witnesses.. was it a relief did you feel excited about all the things you were going to do or try?.

  or did you feel absolutely gutted , years down the drain, no paradise you won't see your dead parents again?.

  It's true, they do lack insight in some areas

  If that is so, in the areas they lacked insight they should have declared that they were only expressing an opinion.Instead of declaring everything as divine utterance.

  Be afraid...be very afraid.
  But remember, returning unto Jehovah out of a motive of fear of dying at Armaggedon is an unacceptable motive. You must be afraid of Him, yet LOVE Him and urgently desire to serve him.

  What is she? Youre coveted object?
  If you want to keep her I suggest you try a different tack, this one wont work. I know from experience.

  (not the alcoholic kind) i have left the org.

  now for at least 5 years, although i did go to the memorial last year, but not where i used to go to the hall; i was not df or da.. .

  i don't believe in re-inventing the wheel.

  arguments about atheism, chronology, trinity, evolution can go on forever.. i like to bring up positions that are unpopular on this forum because most of the people here have given up their examination of certain issues assuming that they have "now" got the real truth.. the lack of critical thinking that is the cause of involvement in off-beat religions can lead to gullibility in other areas.

  the stupid knee-jerk accusations i got when i attacked the molestation issue is typical.

  There was a time not long ago when I voraciously read books analyzing definitions of cults, all the experts disputing over what a cult is, whether there is such a thing at all.
  I think "cult" is just a label.
  Like all labels, it is innacurate, it doesnt say everything, it is not cut and dried.Carved in stone.
  It doesnt seem, to me, that anything much takes place in "cults' that doesnt take place in everyday life and ordinary relationships.
  People get guilty consciences, and feel impulses to confess or conceal things theyve done, at work, for example.
  People justify their verbal commitments and turn it into action all the time, just look at this board for example.
  The "cultic" manifestations, ala Lifton, Hassan, etc, are, to me, just ordinary social/psychological events that have been taken to an extreme length in an extreme environment.
  I cant help, myself, but think that the deciding factor is what is called the "Totalism", the ultimate belief system.
  Where this is apparent, extreme manifestations will follow.
